Today was such an amazing day! I got up super early, went to the Refectory as soon as it opened, and then ran to the bus to make our trip to Stonehenge & Bath. After an hour ride and a stop at a very interesting gas station for snacks, we arrived at Stonehenge. It was literally right off the highway, which is so weird to think that people drive by this every day. We could not get too close to the stones, but my lens brought me close enough. I loved seeing the little bit of snow left over around the stones.
After Stonehenge, we drove to Bath. Once there, a lovely tour guide got onto our bus, showed us around the town, and pointed out all the important sights to see. After our bus tour, we went to the Roman Baths. It was such an amazing sight with the Bath Abbey in the background and the fog from the hot bath rising up. All the roman ruins in the UK really excite me after my three years of Latin in high school. I really wanted to take a sip of the water, because they are known for their healing qualities. I was mostly hoping it would fix my cholesterol :)
After the Roman Baths, I grabbed a tuna baguette from a cute sandwich shop and did the fastest tour of Bath known to man. With my sandwich in hand, I went to all the places our tour guide previously pointed out to us. From the Circus, to the amazing Bridges, I am so glad I did not spend my time in Bath sitting in a restaurant. In 45 minutes, I saw many of the important sights in Bath and headed back to London very tired.
