Florence

The whole first day in Florence was basically spent at The Florence Cathedral.  It is basically the center of the city and we had to walk past it everywhere we went.  We climbed to the top of the dome to see amazing views of the city and were pleasantly surprised with how easy the climb was after St. Peter's only a few days before.  The next day we spent the whole time at the Uffizi and the Academia seeing the amazing art that Florence has.  Unfortunately, there were no pictures allowed in the museums but I picked up some postcards to remember my favorite pieces.  While in Florence,  Allie and I met up with our friend Megan and she showed us some amazing restaurants and places around the city.  Our last day in Florence, we walked over to the Ponte Vecchio where there is some amazing jewelry and then had a lovely lunch in Piazza della Signoria where there was some sort of festival taking place.  It was definitely a great end to an amazing trip!
